<p><b>What is ANSYS and other FEA codes</b></p>
<p>Commercial product of ANSYS, Inc. based of industrial standard Finite
Element Analysis or Finite Element Method. The main features of ANSYS
combined in ANSYS/Multiphysics part designed for linked modelling of thermal
distribution, material stresses and damages, electromagnetic forces, phase
transformations etc. etc. ... <b>BUT</b> in Accelerator design
programs mainly thermal and mechanical stresses resulted from some other
code data used. Additional linking codes needed to combine this with general
accelerator model.</p>
<p><b>Practices of using FEA codes in accelerators design.</b></p>
<p><b>SCRAPER-RTS&T + ANSYS</b><br>
SCRAPER - second order matrix method simulation of beam
transport in circular accelerator <br>
RTS&T - Radiation Transport Simulation and Isotopes
Transmutation Calculation - detailed Monte-Carlo simulation of many particle
types transport in a complex 3D geometry with composite materials in the
energy range from a fraction eV to 20 TeV...for radiotherapy treatment and
radiation safety analysis (library data etc).<br>
Accurate looses distribution of any particles on structure elements
